We are delighted to announce that the Southwold Coastal Community Team (CCT) has been successful in obtaining £50,000 funding from the Coastal Revival Fund (CRF) over recent months, for funding to support the development of projects contained within the CCT Economic Plan.
We are also pleased that an application to the Coastal Community Fund for £995,000 for a Town Manager and Business Hub at Station Road is on the reserve list for consideration for funding in the summer. Although disappointed that we did not receive approval this month, we remain optimistic of receiving funding for both and are also looking for other appropriate grants for both these and other projects that are within the Economic Plan.
Following the announcement of CRF funding for a feasibility study for the Southwold Boating Lakes, James Mellish of JM Environmental (East Anglia) ltd has now been appointed to undertake this work and we hope that he will be able to attend the next CCT meeting.
The CCT are also delighted that the Sole Bay Arts CIO has secured funding of £35,000- the application for which was to enhance the visitor and community attraction.
