On behalf of the Town of Southwold, my fellow Councillors and Officers of Southwold Town Council, I wish to express my deepest sympathy at the news of the death of Her Majesty The Queen.
Southwold mourns the passing of Her Majesty The Queen, and remembers with affection and gratitude her 70 year-long reign, that was marked, particularly, by her dedication to duty and service. Our thoughts are with the Royal Family at this time.
Town Mayor,
Cllr Will Windell
As a mark of our respect, flags throughout the Town are being flown at half mast as we mourn the Nation’s loss.
Acknowledging that the people of Southwold will want to pay their own personal tributes to our late Queen, therefore Books of Condolence are available to sign at the Town Hall, St Edmunds Church and at the old Hospital Library.
An online Book of Condolence is also in place at www.suffolk.gov.uk/condolences.
Furthermore, Bartholomew Green is available for the laying of floral tributes.
Further information will be announced as it becomes available.
